Lets talk about "Inspiration"...

I'm tinking of it a lot in the last few weeks.
"How do you get it? What can it be? What if you don't have some? Is it necessary to have it?"

I feel inspired - by many things. But mostly by - Music.
This can be an album, some words, the mood and feel of a song or the arrangement.
Sure, there are other things which inspire me - like promotion spots in TV, some great looking design, a story or just a foggy idea in my mind. But the most importatnt thing has always been music.

Music inspired me to do a lot of the stuff I did. But not now. No skins, no customizations.

Strangely, music inspires me to make ... music.

What inspires you? Or don't you need inspiration at all?

Tell Me Your Favorite "Movie Quote"

I will begin with a very well known one: "Luke...! I am your father..."

Should I Change My Icon?

When being interviewed at Customizers, zurbaua made me think of my avatar. I really like it. And people probably associate it to me or my account.

Do you think it looks bad or implies a negative stance in some way? Maybe I should change it? And if I do: what would you suggest? And will people still recognize me?

About Creativity

Hello my dear friends. :)

Recently, I stumbled upon an interesting article at logodesignlove, written by philipbrunner. It's about creativity and how to train or enforce it. According to the article, it's inside everyone of us. Good news, huh? :D

The Ease II - An Update Story

Dear friends,
I wanted to update "The Ease" (my first journal submission). But it wasn't possible by just editing the files I submitted. That's because DA doesn't seem to accept any other image count. And I have less images than before in this version.

You may have noticed, that the button that was included, flickered on first hovering. That is a common loading problem the way I used the code. The simpliest way to solve this, was to make a new code. LineBirgitte's button tutorial was a great help here. The button uses only 1 image now (which contains both button states) instead of 4 different (2left and 2 right). So there is no need to load any other images if hovering the button - no flickering...

What else is different in this version?

To be honest, not much. I liked the minimmal design of this one, and didn't see any reason to change it.

But... I have cleaned the code (there have been duplicates of some classes) and added a commentslink on the bottom of the skin like you know it from other journal skins.

The Features

Well, this version here is one of 4 versions I created in the last weeks. It is very easy to understand and to use in my opinion.
This is what you will get:
  • main and sub titles
  • customized lists
  • thumbs
  • buttons
  • a clean structure

If you like it, you can download it at this location.

"The Ease" HTML Guide

It's pretty simple to use the right HTML code on this journal.

If you begin a new element you just have to wrap it with the right DIV's. Some examples follow below.
Paragraphs are inserted in 'realtime' if I may call it that way - means if you make one in the "Content" area, it is shown as is in your journal afterwards.

Here some examples for the HTML code (I inserted a blankspace inside every tag, so you can see them here):

Lists: < div class="text">< ul>List begins< li>1.st entry< /li>< li>2nd entry...< /li>< /ul>< /div>

Text: < div class="text">some text here...< /div>

Buttons: < div class="center">< a class="button" href="link here">Google Me< b>< /b>< /a>< /div>

Thumbs: < div class="thumbs">thumbcode here< /div>

Centered Things: < div class="center">text, images or group icons in here to center them< /div>

Main or Subtitles: < div class="title_sub">"The Ease" HTML Guide< /div>
To use the main title, just exchange "title_sub" with "title_main". The main title can only be used at first element because of its margins.

Hint: Don't forget to remove the blankspaces I added. Otherwise - if you just copy this - it won't work. :)
Example: change < div> to <div>
